You can’t think of Costa Rican food without thinking of Lizano. Since 1920 this mild salsa with its original recipe has been the hallmark of “tico” cooking. A result of carefully selected vegetables and natural condiments, the unique flavor of Lizano is slightly sweet and mainly spicy.

Ticos put it in almost every dish including the famous gallo pinto and tamales, but it is particularly ideal to spice up your favorite steak, salsas, soups, hamburgers or beans. It works great as a marinating salsa for beef, chicken, pork or fish. Try it once and you’ll be hooked!
