COSTA RICA COFFEE, THE COFFEE OF PEACE
To say "Costa Rica" is to speak in green, to breathe the refreshing air that can only be found in a country that has no army, where you find a ready, cheerful smile at the turn of every corner.

In this tiny land with a tropical rainy climate, tucked in the middle of the American continent, over 78,000 coffee growers - large, medium and small, but mostly small - are responsible for one of the country's most important production activities, not only by virtue of its economic impact, but also, and above all else, because of the place it occupies as an essential element of Costa Rican culture.

Men and women plant and harvest by hand more than 250,000 acres of coffee, diligently extracting 2.5 million 132-lb. sacks each year. Such extraordinary productivity is made possible by volcanic soils, hard work and mutually supportive working conditions, as well as the respect that Ticos have for nature.

For all these reasons, Costa Rican coffee is different…this is why Costa Rica's coffee is
