SHIPPING: PROCEDURE & POLICIES FOR RETAIL ORDERS
For security reasons we do not ship to P.O. Boxes. We ship only to verifiable physical home or business addresses where someone will be available to accept and sign a receipt for the shipment.
We are currently able to ship to the United States (including Hawaii, Alaska, U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico), Canada and Mexico. If you are from somewhere else, please send us an email with your full name, shipping address and products you are interested in, so we can quote shipping charges.
Orders that are shipped to countries outside of the Costa Rica may be subject to import taxes, customs duties and fees levied by the destination country ("Import Fees"). The recipient of an international shipment may be subject to such Import Fees, which are levied once a shipment reaches your country. Additional charges for customs clearance must be borne by the recipient; we have no control over these charges and cannot predict what they may be. Customs policies vary widely from country to country; you should contact your local customs office for further information. When customs clearance procedures are required, it can cause delays beyond our original delivery estimates.
You are responsible for assuring that the product can be lawfully imported to the destination country. When ordering from CostaRicanMarket.com, the recipient is the importer of record and must comply with all laws and regulations of the destination country.
The above terms also apply to the shipment of any replacement product that might be shipped if there is a problem with the original shipment.
Your privacy is important to us, and we know that you care about how information about your order is used and shared. We would like our international customers and customers shipping products internationally to be aware that cross-border shipments are subject to opening and inspection by customs authorities.
Also, we may provide certain order, shipment, and product information, such as titles, to our international carriers, and such information may be communicated by the carriers to customs authorities in order to facilitate customs clearance and comply with local laws.
If the order is a gift, the package is marked "Gift," but the cost of the item is still stated on the customs form.
Customs authorities require the value of the gift item to be stated directly on the package.
Shipping time varies from order to order. If we ship via regular mail, it can take from 2 to 4 weeks, via courier service from 4 to 7 days. Production time is NOT included in shipping time. If you would like a faster shipping alternative, please contact us. We will be happy to assist you in this matter. Rocking chairs have a shipping time of 4 to 7 days.

Handling charges per order are $2.75.
If you are unhappy with your order, you may return it within 10 days of receipt of your shipment for a refund (not including postage or shipping). Return postage, Costa Rican import taxes, related duties and fees are the responsibility of the customer. Returns can only be accepted with prior authorization. In the event of an order being incorrect, we will exchange the item for you. All returned products must be undamaged. If you return a product to us, you will be the exporter from the destination country. Title and risk of loss transfer to us upon receipt at our fulfillment centers.
Customized orders may not be returned or exchanged.
EXCHANGES OF DAMAGED OR DEFECTIVE ITEMS
We go to great lengths to ensure that everything is well packaged when it leaves our premises. We employ a team of dedicated packing staff who take great care shipping you our products. Boxes are always labeled as fragile where appropriate, but unfortunately we cannot be held responsible for damage that occurs in transit. We take pride in offering first class customer service and will replace damaged items free of charge. The damaged item must be received back first in order to make a claim from the delivery company - return postage is the responsibility of the customer.
CANCELLING/CHANGING YOUR ORDER
If for any reason you need to cancel your order before it ships, please e-mail us at firstname.lastname@example.org. Please include order number and full name. If your order has been shipped and it has not yet been delivered, you would only incurred in shipping costs and you would be credited the rest of your order. Orders already in the shipping process cannot be modified.
We'll notify you via e-mail of your refund once we've received and processed the returned item.
